4160 doable in a coupe, non roof non Recaro, M6 car
Even w/recaros and A6 its not that much of a difference, want to say mine weighed similar or 4180 with 1/4 tank or less bone stock. I have it written on a slip somewhere. Just thinking if you have an ice box, bigger intercooler, and odds and ends it probably can add almost 80 lbs to the car. Hell even the a weapon x hood adds like 2 lbs.

This is what my 2012 automatic sedan weighed with no extra stuff in the car, nobody in the car, and with a little under a half tank of gasoline.
Did they give you any crap for wanting to do a car?? I need to try this, always wonder about the accuracy of the track scales when there isnt an event going on.

Mine is a 14 coupe with Recaros and no roof.
I'll check it again with full tank.
I filled after wieghing and it took 11 gallons.
I got a scale within a mile of my house.

Interested in knowing what a near stock wagon weighs with auto + recaro - roof.

I know the car is probably around #500 heavier than my old car.

Mine was 4590# with me in it and an LSX block

It's amazing how heavy these cars are. Did they make the subframe out of lead? My C5 Z06 weighs <3,100 lbs.

Right...yet if I push in on anywhere on the rear quarter skin with my finger, I see the metal flex. Remember that the platform was already there (cts-non V) and some things were added to stiffen it, then a great big V8 was shoehorned in there and some additional suspension parts and beefy brakes and trannies. Imagine if GM really tossed us a bone and gave us a 20+ gal fuel tank on top of it.

Not a surprise to me, I guess.

Why the coupe isn't a LOT lighter is a surprise though. Was that not a frame just for the V-coupe or was that frame also shared with the Camaro at the time? Then, why was it not specifically designed to be light ....being that it was a frame born as a performance/sports car?

On the other side, we have the 'Vette. Born & raised to be light & fast (save for the early '80s units). Never built for any model other than that.

I would think it's for the same reason as sedans and wagons..designed with a 3.6L base model in mind.

That's crazy, I recently paid my car off and have no intention to sell. I might get brave and lexan the roof, remove all air bags. race seat, remove sound dampening material, welds, Race brakes, cut where I can. DEF KEEP AC IN south florida.

I want to get to 4.000lbs with me in it. I'm sure som1 has done it, wonder whats the lightest anyone has gotten a V to weigh. I know people want their Cadillac to remain a Cadillac, comfortable blah blah. Well Porsche offers the 911 GT3 RS for a reason.

I have exactly 1 question. Why?

Even if you do strip it down to a rolling shell and make that goal, 4,000lbs is STILL a f-ing tank.
