    Clutch options and advice

I have an '09 CTSV sedan with an M6 trans. The stock factory clutch gave up on me yesterday at the drag strip. The car is stock with 100,000 miles on the factory clutch. It has an afraid CAI, and a drag radial on in for drag strip only. I go to the track maybe 3 times a year, early spring or fall. I will change the upper pulley and do a tune after i figure out what clutch to use. The car 60 foots fairly hard from what I've been told and runs good for being stock within tune.
I am looking for your guys advice and input on what clutch to re-install ?
Also, can the stock/factory flywheel be resurfaced and reused successfully with no issues?

Thanks for any input you guys can give me

I'm of the opposite thinking. If you're going to do more mods then might as well only do the clutch once because its not an incredibly fun job to do.

No need if he's just CAI only. The aftermarket clutches for this application are pretty expensive for mild mods

The driveability of the stock clutch is still hard to beat. So nice.

Still waiting for my stocker to fail

But he also said he was planning an upper pulley as well which typically leads to other mods too. My stock clutch failed at 580whp. Went to a triple disk and I have no regrets. Money well spent to not have to pull the trans out later.

At that power level, I'd stay stock and they're relatively cheap. He won't need a triple unless around 1000 ish. Factory has the best drivability.

    I did a twin and I'm now at 758hp.

Stock drove best but no way would it hold this power with bite.

Reviving this thread. I see that you have a Monster clutch, how do you like it so far? would you recommend a monster clutch? I am in the market for a clutch and was looking at the Monster LT1-SC Twin Disc Clutch and Flywheel.

So far so good and I'm very hard on it. Mine is the tripple so I can't speak for the twin. But it should be very similar.

I have the Monster LT1-S triple as well. Drives just as well if not better than stock and takes a beating.

Thanks fellas. When you guys purchased the triple did it come with new slave and flywheel as well?

I assume you used a factory slave when replacing

I figured this is a good place to ask. As far as I can tell, the RAM flywheels are meant to work with an OEM disk/pressure, plate, right? https://www.texas-speed.com/p-4125-r...sx-8-bolt.aspx
I hope to not need to muck with my transmission or clutch for a really long time, but if I ever do, it would be nice to save a little weight and $200 (OEM flywheel is $550).
