    04 CTS-V Rear diff FAIL

Just thought I'd post a pic showing the effects of overwhelming the V1's underwhelming rear diff . I launched and heard the wheels spinning and could even actually hear them "winding up". I began to feel a some vibration (beginning of wheel hop maybe?) and immediately let off. That was met with a loud boom, hard thud, and a revving engine; accompanied by a puddle of fluid and chunks of metal below the diff.
Oh well, I was looking for a reason to order the C.S. 8.8 Expected to arrive in a couple of weeks with the 4.10 gear, upgraded axles, and all bushings associated with the rear diff/cradle/subframe.

Those diffs on the V1 are such pieces of shit.
It was always in the back of my mind when I was driving my 05 around. I kept it in one piece because I never launched hard and never power shifted.
