    M6 non-DR times

Hey guys, point me in the right direction if this has been a covered topic. But I was trying to get an idea of what the m6 guys are typically running with the basic bolt-ons (intake, pulley, injectors) on street tires. I checked the 1/4 mile times and there is only one car for reference.

I get that you need DR's to take full advantage of the power, but I don't think I will ever make the switch based on how I use/enjoy my car. I do see myself making impromptu trips to the strip to meet/run with friends and family as I have done with past cars, and I would like it if the car could pull some mid-11s once I install the 2.55, intake, and injectors.

Can anyone share their m6 on street tire experience?

6M stock is a handful on street tires at the strip, add mods and it gets way worse.

Just when you think DR's are the answer, a modded 6M down the strip takes driver skill and GOOD track prep through 1/2 track.

Now, DR's on the street is awesome, way easier to hook than at a track with bad prep.

Just saying be prepared to be humbled unless you are an awesome driver already.

I know trainman on here ran really well with minimal mods on a 6M.

Yeah, my 400hp c3 was scary on 15" street tires at the track, so I would imagine it is a handful with more weight and more power. My TT stealth was AWD so 1.7 60's were pretty easy haha.

I recognize that a full tank adds unwanted weight, however, it does help put the power down.

You know what, I have had my trunk loaded down with about 150lbs of gear (for National Guard drill), and it made a major impact on tirespin in 1st and 2nd gear. It's crazy how much impact that little bit of weight over the rear-end makes.

And comparing weight for a full tank versus 1/3, you've got roughly 75 pounds more weight over the rear tires.

I would get the 2.4 upper pulley since you're getting injectors unless you're worried about other things such as heat and primary cats.

I already bought a whole snout with a 2.55" pulley. I'm thinking if I need any more power beyond that, intake, inj/tune, I can run e30-40 and get a boost in power without the extra heat.

Went 12.6@115 bone stock on two different occasions after owning the car for only around a month, found 60 footing the car halfway decently on street tires is pretty much impossible.
I'll have an airaid, SW catback, and some MT DRs in the spring, hoping for a bottom 12.

My car went 11.3 with 2.4 upper/injectors/intake/exhaust and street tires. Put welds and et streets on and it ran 10.9 with the same mods and tune.

Awesome. Do you remember what your 60' was with street tires?

That's pretty damn impressive. Can you share any details on technique? Launch RPM? Slipping the clutch at all?

Bumping up an older thread but definitely interested as I'm taking my M6 out tomorrow. What kind of driveline upgrades have you invested in to be able to cut 1.4-1.5 60s'? Assuming clutch, half shafts?

    Impressive times for sure.
