    New to the cts v world

    traded my 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 for this V. It came with mods and trouble. Got a long week of tinkering and googling on this site.

    Congrats on the V! I started reading on this site about 6 months before I got my V. You can learn a lot on here. Some great and very helpful guys to learn from. You will love the car!

    wow. how does the block and heads look? What number was that piston from?

    Hopefully you can clean up the block and get some new parts!
    Current mods
    Lt1z stage 2 cam - johnson lifters - Dynospeed 4.5 intake/Green filter - Mamo LS7 ported TB - ARH headers and x-pipe to stock mufflers - Weapon X Track attack HX - weaponX carbon fiber spoiler and side blades - Varimax HX pump - NGK afx wide band - 2.45 Griptech upper - ATI lower 8.8 ring - Green belt - idler pulley - Id850s, Zl1 lid - NGK TR7ix - MSD wires - Mighty mouse catch can - BMR ice box - Side Swipe -
    160ish or 170 thermostat- Tuned.

    Piston number 8 dealer tried to put a band aid on a major problem. Had it for three days went half on the repairs and he gave me my old car to drive.

    When the mechanic broke it down he said it has a 2.45 pulley bbk 102mm throttle body e85 built in the lines air raid and cat delete. Definitely need to take to a tuner as soon as I get time.

    Sounds like detonation killed it. Find a reputable tuner who knows the LSA

    Now that's a horrible introduction to a new car! It's like waking up in a semi sober state and suddenly realizing that what you thought you went to bed with is a whole lot different in the morning light.

    Good luck with that, it'll be stronger in the long run but definitely will cost you some bucks. I took a similar chance, bought my wagon with a 2.55 pulley and modded air box, they said it has a tune but I am going to have it checked as soon as I can.
