What up guys, I'm a new V owner and am loving the this car! So much fun to drive! Are any of you 16' owners having slot of brake dust though? I seen to be having quite a bit!
Yes absolutely normal with Brembos you can buy low bust brake pads I put them on my Hellcat and they were a huge difference way less dust
But the pads did not perform as well as the stock pads.
get some Sonax Rim and Wheel shield. I can usually just pressure wash my wheels and they come 90 percent clean even in the barrels and on the calipers.
Absolutely a brake dust generator! The price for great performing brakes I guess. I will consider a different pad when time to change. I assume the high performance won't last as long as a standard pad.
That's why I chose the black satin wheels for mine - to help hide the brake dust. Love my carbon ceramic brakes on the Z07 - pricey, but no dust and 100K brake life.
Dust comes from pads and has nothing to do with calipers or rotors. Find a ceramic or low dust pad. I use PAM cooking spray on the race car wheels to keep loose rubber to a minimum and it works on dust but i don't think id' use it on my V.
Welp! Weather is decent here in Akron, OH today so I am pulling the wheels off the V today 1 by 1 to clean the brake dust thouroly and then Im going to apply some break dust repellant so on the next cleaning hopefully it will be easier to clean.
Well not sure on the V3, but the V2 is 140. Realistically probably anything above 100 is good. Has anyone ever seen a tire place pull out a torque wrench?
Even some dealerships don't torque to proper spec. "makes them too hard to take off next time" one person said. One thing that often gets neglected is to retorque after several miles. Drive it 100 miles then re check the torque.
