Which 19" tire gives best hook for cheapest price?

I need to replace my 19" stock rear tires because someone (I guess myself) spins the things so often that they're bald!
Need better hook up. Want to stay with run-flats because I'm not carrying a spare.
I saw the Firestone firehawk wide oval FRT for $312 on tirerack but it says "for corvette use only".
the next cheapest is the Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP for $357 but that's an all season tire.
I don't mind a summer tire if it gives better hook-up. thoughts?

    thanks

Oops...sorry, missed the run flat requirement. That said ANY run flat is going to be poor for traction. The reason being that run flats have very stiff sidewalls to support the car with no air pressure. So with a lot less sidewall flex you are going to have problems with traction on ANY brand, make, or model...

Just street tires. Same size as originals.

I then plan on painting my stock wheels black and putting on a red pinstripe

All seasons suck for for hooking up too.

What power level are you? If stock, check out conti DW. If not, be ready to pay more for traction.

You know going lighter on your right foot and leaving the traction control on can control that spinning and in return help your tires not wear as quickly.
3/4 race cam in a 'Vette engine, roller muffler bearings, extra back pressure for more torque, traction bars, cross drilled brake lines, low profile tires, and dual whistle tips.... WOOO WOOOO!

I've had good luck with the RE-11's. They have a 180 tread wear, they are pretty soft. Read some reviews on them. Most everyone loves them.

A DR has problems hooking on the street unless you prep.
Some street tires are much less traction limited than others. The re11 for instance does surprisingly well, even exceeding the DW.

Cooper RS3-S are decent tires at a reasonable price. I popped one of my OEM rear tires on some road debris (sidewall) w/ only 7K miles. Then I popped one of the fronts in a fender bender w/ only 9K miles. I only replace tires in pairs so I'm running Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the front and the Coopers in the rear. All OEM size. Both sets have a UTQG of 300/AAA so I still have balanced grip. It was around $500 for each set. I recommend you avoid directional tires, so you can at least still rotate side to side. Stickies will cost more, especially the rears...Happy shopping...
